With over 12 years in the commercial and residential construction industry, Terry founded Trutec Engineering following his acquisition of a General Construction license from the Contractors State License Board.

David S.H Lim, co-founder of Trutec Engineering, oversees comprehensive business development, finance and administration at the company. With decades of experience, David excels in forging external partnerships, launching new ventures, and fostering sustainable growth strategies.

Terry Kim brings a wealth of experience and a diverse background to his role as Head of Construction Operations at Trutec Engineering. With over 12 years in the commercial and residential construction industry, Terry founded Trutec Engineering following his acquisition of a General Construction license from the Contractors State License Board.
At Trutec Engineering, Terry oversees all construction operations, managing a wide array of responsibilities including estimation, safety protocols, quality assurance, crew management, and vendor relations. Under his leadership, Trutec Engineering has successfully delivered over 160 construction and engineering projects, establishing a reputation for excellence in the field.
Before embarking on his construction career, Terry Kim pursued a dynamic path that included professional sports and military service. He was a standout player in the Ukrainian Hockey League and a key member of the Republic of Korea national hockey team. Terry’s commitment to service also led him to serve in the 9th Army Signal Command of the United States Army and the 1st Artillery Brigade of the Republic of Korea Army.
Terry holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management in Sports from Kwangwoon University in Korea. Beyond his professional achievements, Terry cherishes family time with his two sons and maintains his passion for hockey, enjoying the sport during his leisure hours.
Joe Kim
Joe Kim, co-founder of Trutec Engineering, brings over a decade of extensive experience in project management within both private and public construction sectors. His journey began in public service, where he honed his skills in managing complex construction projects.
As Head of the Project Management team at Trutec Engineering, Joe oversees all pre-construction activities, project timelines, budgeting, vendor lineup, and procurement processes. Known for his exceptional communication skills and meticulous approach, Joe ensures seamless coordination between office and field operations, maintaining high standards of efficiency and attention to detail. Joe’s vision for project management is beyond successfully closing projects but He also values instilling confidence through seamless communication with all project stakeholders, from owners to every single on-field worker.
Prior to his career in construction, Joe served with distinction in the United States Army from 2004 to 2008, deploying to Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom III with the 519th Military Intelligence Battalion. Despite significant challenges, including injuries and the loss of comrades, Joe’s resilience and dedication earned him an honorable discharge. Following his military service, Joe pursued higher education at the University of California, San Diego, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in economics.
Beyond his professional commitments, Joe cherishes time with his young son and indulges his passion for ice hockey, regularly playing as a beloved hobby.
David S.H. Lim
David S.H Lim, co-founder of Trutec Engineering, oversees comprehensive business development, finance and administration at the company. With decades of experience, David excels in forging external partnerships, launching new ventures, and fostering sustainable growth strategies.
At Trutec Engineering, David assumes responsibility for operational oversight and plays a role in crafting corporate structures, operational procedures, and strategies. His expertise extends to mid to long-term corporate planning, driving the continuous advancement of Trutec Engineering.
Before joining Trutec Engineering, David spent a decade at Samsung HQ in Korea, where he made significant contributions and held a leadership position in business development. He played a key role in concluding contracts valued at over 1 billion USD and was primarily responsible for Samsung Biologics’ IPO process, raising 1.8 billion USD from global investors.
David’s career began with a notable service record in the Republic of Korean Army, where he served as a commissioned officer at the Ministry of Nation Defense, Republic of Korea Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Defense Intelligence Agency and was honorably discharged as a 1st lieutenant. During his military service, he was deployed and participated in the war in Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom as part of the NATO Force.
David holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, San Diego. Beyond his professional endeavors, he enjoys golfing and traveling the world with his wife, and avidly follows European soccer leagues in his leisure time.
